    Shades of Blue
    Title: Shades of Blue
    Author: arhh
    Pairing: House and Wilson
    Rating: pg
Summary: Bit of fluff where Wilson contemplates on the many shades of blue.

If House had a clue as to what he was thinking, House would scoff and liken him to a sentimental foolish teenage girl. He couldn’t help himself though, he had a free moment and since House wasn’t much for romantic gestures, he liked to indulge himself in his reflections regarding his lover. He had overheard a new nurse working down in the clinic remark on the kind Dr. House and his ‘beautiful blue eyes’ and was caught between a fit of jealousy and feeling pity for the poor woman when she would come to realize that his demeanor in the clinic over the past few days had been a ruse, a way for him to win a bet that Wilson doesn’t even quite remember was made. House must have heard something challenging in his words, and at least a few days of niceness was better than sticking a knife in an electrical socket.

It was the ‘beautiful blue eyes’ comment that stuck in his head and wouldn’t leave him alone. He willingly admitted that yes, House did have beautiful blue eyes, but the statement didn’t do their beauty nor color justice. As a doctor, he knew that eye color didn’t actually change with mood or emotion- yes the pupils might narrow or dilate, but iris’ color didn’t change, but he would swear House’s did. Under normal circumstances, when everything was as right as it could be in House’s world, his eyes were a Cornflower Blue, one of Wilson’s favorite, except maybe for the almost Prussian Blue they became when House was aroused. Wilson both loved and feared when House’s eyes took on an Azure hue, this meant either loads of trouble or fun or a combination of both. On a bad day, when the pain was flaring, his eyes would take on the washed out tones of a Periwinkle Blue, Wilson hated these days as much as he hated the ones that saw House’s eyes take on the color of Steel Blue, this meant that Wilson or one of House’s minions had done something heinous in House’s view and a fight was on the horizon.

Wilson was snapped out of his thoughts of swirling shades of blue when he opened his eyes to the object of his affections staring at him, the sunlight adding a bit of sparkle to two Azure tinted blue eyes combined with a smirk.
